Way better than I expected I received a free ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review In this first book of the series we follow the unexpected story of Brinna a human girl training to be a professionnal runner But when she s abducted from Earth by aliens and put into a race that s very different from what she s used to she will have to fight to stay alive and win. Honestly this book is gold I did not expect to like it that much since space stuff isn t usually my jam but damn I loved it It s really enthralling and quick paced The protagonist is very likable and I found myself agreeing with most if not all of her choices The race was really exciting and well written with unexpected twists and turns that left me gawking and screaming The author managed to give us a Hunger Games vibe while completely reinventing the concept and making it just as fascinating Even if the writing seemed a little repetitive at first it didn t last and I found myself completely mesmerized by the story and characters that I absolutely adore I cannot wait for the next book and I m really happy that I was able to discover this If you liked Hunger Games you should definitely read this book It deserves hype Nothing is random Renegade Runner Renegade Runner 1 Brinna was a human girljust returning from training for the Olympics in running when she was abducted by aliens to be sold Phox was an alien on a job to procure a specific species from a ship of abducted aliens when he was caught to then be sold Brinna and Phox ended up being paired in a race for their freedom and their lives against other aliens with odds stacked against them They realized that the top racer Sienna another human and her partner for some odd reason had it out for them specifically Not only did Brinna and Phox have to face each other they had to face an inhospitable environment from the planet they raced on death around every corner a wealthy benefactor that wanted them dead other teams that wanted them dead and an unworthy spacecraft Interesting and exciting read with fun characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Renegade Runner Renegade Runner 1 This is a fun read I love how the two main characters are slowly building a friendship relationship under a high pressure life or death situation Like Brinna we are learning how this previously unknown part of the galaxy operates She has to rely on her companion Phox to figure out how to survive The two make a good team despite various misunderstandings and not knowing each other very well There is a lot of action but is well balanced by the banter and development between Brinna and Phox I m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received a free ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Renegade Runner Renegade Runner 1 I was hesitant at first when I started this book I am a huge fan of this genre although I find that lately it has not satisfied as other genres have This was Fantastic I sat in my library and read this book and watched how these characters came to life I was astounded at how Nick who is a new author for me put this this book together and built up these characters I willingly went into this blind because I did not want to get my hopes up regarding this story and was so surprised at the humor drama suspense it is all wrapped up in this hilariously delightful treat It keeps you on the edge and makes your face hurt So well written and the delivery is spot on I am asking you to give this author a shot and I do not mean the drinking variety although you probably will want one while reading this But be careful when you lift it up to your lips because there is 99% probability that you might be somewhere it will come flying out your nose from the consuming hilarity I enjoyed this book and the story and the visuals that it provides I know you will too I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review Renegade Runner Renegade Runner 1
